Professional Experience:
Theodore L. Senet is a partner in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas offices of Gibbs, Giden, Locher, Turner & Senet LLP. His practice specializes in the areas of insurance, construction, real property and environmental law. Since joining the firm in 1984, Mr. Senet's areas of practice have been insurance, construction and real property law. Prior to joining Gibbs, Giden, Locher, Turner & Senet LLP, Mr. Senet was Regional Counsel for Lawyers Title Insurance Company, with responsibility for insurance claims handling, insurance underwriting, regulatory and real property matters.
Mr. Senet has been involved in planning, development, risk management, construction and dispute resolution on numerous major projects, including high rise buildings, hospitals, airports, roadways, power and processing plants, refineries, manufacturing facilities and large residential developments. He currently represents public entities, corporate owners and developers, commercial general contractors and major home builders in insurance planning and procurement, insurance claims and insurance coverage litigation, complex construction defect and environmental litigation, class action litigation, construction delay claims and major tort litigation.
Mr. Senet is a well-known speaker, educator and author. He is a course instructor on insurance, construction and real property law, and has been a principal speaker for numerous MCLE approved seminars. He has served on many panel programs, including the University of California Continuing Education of the Bar programs "Construction Law and Disputes," "Insurance Law for Real Property, Business and General Counsel" and "Hot Topics in Property and Liability Insurance"; the PESI seminars on California Construction Law, the West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Conference; and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, American Arbitration Association and Pepperdine University School of Law programs on construction mediation.
Mr. Senet is a member of the American Bar Association, Tort and Insurance Practice Section and a member of the American Bar Association's Forum on the Construction Industry; he is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Real Property Section. Mr. Senet has served as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.
Mr. Senet earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School in 1978; and he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1975.
