Professional Experience:

Mr. Gibbs was a founding partner of the firm. He has retired and is now a full-time neutral with JAMS. He has written many books and articles on construction industry-related topics, including "California Construction Law," now in its 16th edition. He has also conducted many seminars for construction trade groups and professional associations nationwide and has been a principal speaker on several occasions at the Construction Law SuperConference. Mr. Gibbs is a member of the Public Contract law Section and the Forum Committee on the Construction Industry of the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Large and Complex Case Panel of the American Arbitration Association and an arbitrator on the State of California Public Works Arbitration Panel. Mr. Gibbs serves as mediator of construction industry disputes in both the public and private sectors and has mediated more than 700 construction matters.
