The
Business and Commercial Law Department of Gibbs, Giden, Locher, Turner & Senet LLP originally was formed to assist the firm's construction industry clients in collection matters and the enforcement of statutory mechanic's lien, stop notice, and bond rights. Over the years, this practice has expanded significantly to meet the needs of our growing client base. In addition to its traditional practice, the business and commercial department now represents a broad spectrum of publicly and privately held companies in a variety of business transactions and litigation. From the technically complex area of enforcing construction project rights to routine collection of an open book account, GGLTS' team of experienced commercial attorneys and paralegals is structured to obtain quick results on a cost-effective basis for our clients. We have extensive experience in the representation of secured and unsecured creditors, as well as lessors of real and personal property. We utilize provisional remedies, such as attachments, repossessions and injunctions, and post-judgment levies in order to maximize our clients' return.
We also handle all aspects of creditor representation in bankruptcy proceedings, including preference claims, motions for relief from the automatic stay, motions to assume or reject executory contracts, and non-dischargeability actions. Our litigators have substantial experience in bringing and defending business tort actions such as fraud, unfair competition, RICO, antitrust, trade secrets, and business interference claims. Our expertise, broad experience and depth of resources enable our attorneys to represent a variety of industries in all areas of business and commercial litigation. Our clients include contractors, manufacturers, distributors, technology companies, and financial institutions.
In response to the requests and needs of our construction and commercial clients, GGLTS launched a business and corporate law practice to assist clients with general business and corporate matters. Our attorneys have significant expertise regarding the formation of new business entities, acquisition and sale of businesses through stock or asset transactions, stockholder matters, real and personal property leases, financing agreements, and day-to-day business contracts and forms. Our business and corporate law attorneys, in conjunction with other attorneys in the firm, also assist in a variety of employment, insurance, and real property matters. For corporate clients, we offer services equivalent to those of general counsel, managing a large volume of files, as well as counseling on operational issues. By virtue of our experience in the multifaceted construction industry, our corporate attorneys have developed a broad business knowledge that enables them to satisfy our clients’ business needs in a practical and efficient manner.
